Pleased with the hospitality of the women, the king named the whole city as Bengalooru meaning the place of boiled beans in Kanada. The change in the name due to the course of time and modernity made it Bangalore. By this inscription of 890 AD states that Bangalore is over 1000 years old. This city was ruled by a series of rulers starting from Cholas, Hoysalas, Vijaynagaras, Mughals and the British.
